CORE VALUES
A LIFESTYLE OF WORSHIP
Worship is not about a service, singing songs, or a day or time to gather, it is a life obediently surrendered to Jesus. This means, in all we say and do, as we go about life, we choose to honor Him in words, actions, deeds, and in how we love people in order to make Him known. This defines a true worshipper of Jesus.
CULTURE OF HONOR AND LOVE
Honoring God is best shown in a surrendered life and through honoring others. We recognize every individual is an Imager of our Creator, and therefore worthy of love and honor. We are at our best when we allow our ceilings to be another’s floor, encouraging and celebrating one another. Competition, comparing, and negative criticism have no place in God’s family.
“Honor is what love looks like in community.”
WE ARE ONE FAMILY
God created us to be a family that authentically reflects His heart. This is central to the Father’s heart and His purposes in Jesus Christ, we are therefore committed to be kind, patient, generous, gracious and authentic in love, especially when brave communication is necessary. This does not mean we compromise the truth of scripture.
WE ARE A SAFE SPACE
Being an expression of God’s beautiful family, we commit ourselves to be a safe space for one another to be real in our passion and our pain, intentionally fostering a safe space for people to be relationally authentic, without fear of being shamed, or criticized. Confidentiality is critically important for people to become whole; we therefore hold confidentiality highly and are protective of it in our relationships.
GRACE & ACCOUNTABILITY
We have been given extravagant grace therefore we offer extravagant grace when accountability is needed. Accountability should always be done in kindness, a gentle spirit, and Godly wisdom. Grace and truth should help people find freedom and maturity in their walk with Jesus.
EVERYONE GETS TO PLAY
Our Maker has made every child of God with a purpose and a plan. Part of Christian community is both recognizing that truth and making space for them to be realized. Creativity and service comes in many shapes and expressions, we are committed to enable the growth of every person in discovering their unique expression of service to Christ.
LOVE IS OUR INHERITANCE
Through Holy Spirit the God who is Love dwells in us. Jesus followers should be the most loving people on Planet Earth. We strive to love the way He loves in our words, actions and service. The Power of His Love, demonstrated on the cross, through his people is transformative. Again, without compromising the truth of scripture.
THE FIVE-FOLD IS IMPORTANT FOR A HEALTHY COMMUNITY
We believe that Ephesians 4:11-16 is important for a healthy Christian community. We also understand this critically important scripture has been at times abusive and confusing for some. We do not see apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, or teachers, as hierarchical positions or as titles to be elevated. No, these are roles and functions of service to God’s people. One is not more important than the other, they all fit together in love, grace, honor, and humility in order for The Body of Christ to grow in maturity until the fullness of Christ Jesus is realized. All of the Five-fold are first and foremost servants to all, not above or below, but rather shoulder to shoulder as His bondservants.
HOLY SPIRIT CAN HAVE HIS WAY
We love Holy Spirit and yield to His direction and leading. As such, wherever He wants to take us as we gather we will follow. That may mean extended times of worship or prayer, breaking bread, or ministering to one another. It doesn’t need to be weird to do what the Spirit is doing, it can and should be done in an orderly fashion with Godly wisdom; He is not the God of confusion. At the same time there is joy as we yield together doing as He leads together. Our corporate heart’s desire, is to be Obedient and Surrendered to His leading.
“Come Holy Spirit, Have Your Way!”
“When the family of God on earth, loves the way His family in heaven loves, the world will see the family they long for and come home to their Father.”
This is what Jesus paid for!
